Tattoo Aftercare

After your tattoo artist places the bandage on your new tattoo, the bandage should stay on for five (5) to seven (7) days or as per artist’s recommendation.

NOTE: It is normal for blood and fluids to bubble up under the bandage.

Removing your bandage:

● The best way to remove the bandage is to find an edge and pull it towards the direction of hair growth. We do not recommend pulling it upward as it can be painful.

● We suggest removing the bandage while taking a warm shower so the steam and water will loosen the adhesive and make it easier to pull.

● After the bandage is removed, wash the area with mild soap and water, then pat dry with a clean towel. Note: DO NOT USE washcloths, loofah, or sponge to clean your tattoo. These can irritate your new tattoo and may harbor bacteria.

● Always use UNSCENTED lotion to keep your tattoo moisturized for the rest of the healing process.

To better prepare for your upcoming tattoo session, the following instructions are available for your convenience.

What you should DO before a tattoo session?

Get a good night's sleep prior to your appointment. The healthier you are before your session, the easier it will be for you and the artist to complete your session.

Make sure that you eat before your tattoo appointment.

Remember to wear/bring appropriate clothing to your tattoo appointment so that the area being tattooed is easily accessible to the artist.

Bring snacks (for longer sessions). If you are getting a larger piece done and have scheduled it in a longer session, be sure to bring a light snack at the very least.

Bring bottled water. Stay hydrated during the tattoo session.

Sugary drinks and sweets are good during the tattoo to give you a short-term sugar boost.

Bring some form of entertainment for yourself like an iPod, iPad, Laptop, phone, etc. with your own headphones or earbuds.

Please be aware that you and your artist will be spending a lot of time in close proximity during your appointment. Good hygiene is always appreciated!

What you should NOT DO before a tattoo session?

Avoid drinking alcohol 24 hours prior to tattooing

Avoid stimulation drinks such as red bull etc.

Avoid sun tanning, tanning beds

Avoid extreme workouts a couple days prior to your tattoo appointment to prevent unnecessary swelling and soreness.

DO NOT shave the areas where you will be tattooed to avoid any wounds. The artist will do the shaving during  the appointment.

Please don’t moisturize right before your session, however, as this could affect the tattoo machine's function.
